EDITORIAL
We were sorry to hear of the sad loss of Audrey Browning recently. Audrey was very enthusiastic about anything to do with the community and distributed the village magazine, About Bozeat, from its first publication thirty years ago. Audrey and her husband, Doug, then took over from Marian Clark in collating the printed sheets into book form, stapling and counting the magazines into the right quantities ready for delivering to the distributors. They also helped with the door to door posting. Bozeat Matters was published from December 1998 and Audrey and Doug continued to collate the magazine until new printers were found in 1999 who offered a fully automated service.
Audrey spent many years supporting children in Bozeat through Brownies, Church groups and Bozeat School, as well as helping to run the playgroup at the Church Hall. Audrey loved her family, sewing, crafts of all sorts, watching birds, and helping people. Our condolences are extended to Doug and daughters Caroline, Hannah, Emily and their families.
Details of Mothering Sunday and Easter Services can be found in the Village Diary and in church reports/notices. Bozeat Windmill Singers have their 2010 Charity Concert ‘Help for Heroes’ on Saturday 17th April - don’t forget to get your tickets early as this will be a very popular event.
The Post Office, Newsagents and Spar are vital to our community and were much appreciated in the bad weather when travelling to and from local towns was difficult. If we want to continue to benefit from the services they offer we must use them on a regular basis.
We welcome Robert Millar, McTimoney Chiropractor, to our list of advertisers. Robert runs his practice in Wellingborough and lives in the village so we are pleased to include another local service.
There has been a lot of work done on our local footpaths (field paths) over the last year by the County Council - new bridges, stiles, gates and waymarkers. Spring is a good time to get out in the fresh air and we are lucky to have access to lovely local countryside direct from Bozeat and Easton Maudit. Most footpaths are well signed and easy to follow so why not give them a try. See page 19 for details about how to obtain information on more than 130 walks in Northamptonshire - you have no excuses now!
